Don’t Use USPS
I just wanted to take a moment and warn production companies and sellers to be careful when you use United States Postal Service to send equipment to be fixed or to buyers. I sent a $2800.00 4K video monitor to have a minor problem fixed. Here is what has happened.
Last July I took the monitor to JDM packing supplies to be professionally packed and shipped. They use USPS for shipping. The monitor had two layers of bubble wrap and a layer of foam in a box specially made with a fragile sign wrapped around it. I took out insurance before it was shipped. When it arrived at the service facility in Southern California the box was crushed and the monitor was destroyed.
I received pictures from the service company showing a broken screen, busted knobs and holes in the frame. I gathered the picture, a statement from them, the weigh bill, the insurance payment, a website that shows the monitor and its price and a claim form from the local post office that agreed it was destroyed. I sent all of this in a claim to USPS two days later.
The claim has been denied several times by snail mail and email. I put the claim in a second time and again it was denied. Now when I try to pursue the claim this is the reply I receive.

This email keeps sending this reply and no one answers that phone number.
At this point I can either sue the Federal Government or write the monitor off as a loss.
I will never use USPS again!
