Tips to Make Your Next Corporate Video go Smoothly

  1. Make sure everyone agrees as to what a successful video will look like.
  2. Speak with those in charge of your website to get the specification the video production company will need to deliver the video with the right technical specs.
  3. Find suitable location within your building that can be used for the shoot. Make sure all your employees are aware on shoot day.  Go through the schedule with the production company.
  4. Try to make sure the crew has a place to park and unload equipment and park their vehicles. Make sure the crew gets a break for refueling.  The producer should be aware of this.
  5. Make sure those who will be interviewed know the subject matter. They should be dressed in solid colors.  White, black and bright red do not look good on video.  No jewelry that makes noise when the interviewee moves.
  6. There will, more than likely, be B-roll shot. This is video, other than the interviewee, that shows employees, products and location that can be used over the voice over or interview.
  7. After the shoot day the real work begins, the post production process. This includes the video, music, graphics that all goes into the editing process. Usually there is a rough edit. This is sent to the client for approval. Make sure anyone who will have input sees the video at this point.  The next step is the online edit.  This is when the video gets polished and put into a format for your end use.
