Aerial shots are a great way to make your video stand out. Many videos will have aerial footage early on to grab a viewer’s attention by showing a perspective of a landscape never seen before. A long time ago, companies needed a huge budget so they could rent a helicopter to get aerial shots. With drones, we can get much more detailed and higher quality shots for a fraction of the cost. Drones have become very mainstream and the costs of owning a drone have gone down as well.

It’s very important that your contracted drone operator is licensed. There are many laws, rules, and regulations regarding flying a drone. A licensed drone operator will know where it is safe and legal to fly. Some basic rules to know include not flying within five miles of an airport, staying below 400 feet, and never flying over large crowds of people.

    I never knew that it's important to fly your aircraft below 400 feet if it's unmanned. I guess there are some important things to remember before you do aerial videoing. I am just going to hire a company to do it for me because I think they will have the tools and skills needed to make a solid video!
