Shooting on green screen can be very tricky. So much so, that often the viewer can easily tell that the footage they're watching was shot on a green screen. You want to make sure you have a crew that is experienced with creating green screen footage. Here are some tips to make sure your project looks professional

The Benefit of Green Screen Technology

Before Chroma key technology - also known as green screen photographers had to travel to the location they wished to capture. If you needed photos of a model on the beach in Maui, that’s where you went. With green screen video shoots you can shoot at your location or a studio.

1.) Location Location Location

The right space is key for a professional looking green screen video. You need a room that is 20 x 25 feet. Make sure you do not have a locked down table in the middle. The Photographer needs a 10ft space between you and the green screen, you also need room to set up lights and 10ft between you and the camera.

2.) Lighting

You want a professional to light a green screen. It is very important to light it correctly so that you cannot tell you are shooting on green screen. Here are two examples.

3.) What to wear

Make sure you don’t wear any shade of green or yellow. Solid colors works best.

4.) Backgrounds
