If you’re thinking about promoting your business using power point slides with a talking head you might want to think a bit more. While talking head are used as a video to promote your business it can get boring and the listener may not hear everything you want them to hear.
A talking head inserted into a slide is not as effective as it could be.
A talking head is someone talking to the camera or talking to someone just off camera. So many businesses have used talking-head videos on the web has led to some unintended consequences: the belief that to make a good web video all you need is a power point presentation and a camera. This is just not true. Video of a person talking without supporting footage isn’t interesting enough to engage your audience.
People who are watching video on the web are easily distracted. They are looking for an entertaining or much more interesting experience. To keep them engaged enough to listen to what you want them to hear you will need a more dynamic video.
There are a techniques that would help. Use some supporting B-Roll that supports what you are saying. Make your video a bit more entertaining with some humor. At the very least, use two cameras or make the video a bit more interesting by put in movement by using a slider.
