Video Trends and Statistics for 2023

Video is quickly becoming the most popular form of communications in 2023.  Due to the rising popularity of social media platforms like YouTube, Tic Toc, Instagram, and Facebook the new trend is vertical videos or videos shot in portrait mode and not landscape.

In 2022 videos were under 2 minutes in length but quickly moving under 1 minute or less.  Two thirds of the videos that gain the most viewers have the main message of the video in the first few seconds.  Over half of the companies are using video to introduce and demonstrate their product or service and over 80% plan to increase their budget.

Video has also become an important reason for consumers to connect with business.  A huge percentage of consumers would like to see more video.  Well over 90 percent of people say that videos were a huge factor in deciding their decision to by a product and most were influenced by product demonstrations.  Mobile devices have become the most popular method of viewing videos with over three quarters of people using them.  Over fifty percent of buyers say the video was the prime reason they chose a brand.

When it comes to blogs, most people would rather watch a video than read a blog.  Viewers remember 95 percent of what they see in a video as opposed to a blog article.  Tweets that include a video are ten times more likely to be engaged and more likely to entice people to visit the website.

Most businesses are satisfied with the ROI from their video and nearly half say that it has decreased the amount of customer service calls that they receive.

So, in 2023, if you want to increase client engagement, video will need to be a big part of your marketing.
